neurotoxins
Neurotoxins (i.e. Botox) are a family of FDA-approved injectable products that immobilize the muscles that cause wrinkles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, and over time wrinkles relax and soften. Neurotoxins have many applications, but are most often used to remedy moderate to severe forehead lines, vertical frown lines between the eyebrows (known as “elevens”) and crow’s feet around the eyes. As muscle movement gradually returns over time, lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. However, they often appear less severe with time because the muscles shrink and weaken in response to treatment. Below are the neurotoxin products we use. They have similar affects, but vary in terms of how quickly they take to act and how long they last. Additionally, people respond differently to each product (some find one product more effective than another), so we will work with you to determine the best option for your needs.
